What is SpywareQuake?Spyware Quake is a fake anti-spyware software that supposedly performs a scan and finds malicious software on your computer. Be aware that SpywareQuake is not only a recommended spyware remover, but it itself is distributed through various exploits and spammy pages.

SpywareQuake attempts to scare users into downloading and purchasing the commercial version of its anti-spyware product by displaying fake pop-up alert messages. The pop-up messages appear as taskbar balloon pop-ups that warn the user about virus activity when no virus activity exists. These pop-ups are produced by a hidden adware program which is installed by a Trojan horse, most likely in the form of a drive-by-download when visiting certain websites.
